Men Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges Following Road Rage Shooting

Mims, FL - Two Brevard County men are jailed without bond on attempted murder charges after a road rage shooting involving a family with three young children.

Deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting incident in Mims on Saturday after a couple reported being terrorized by the occupants of a black Dodge pickup truck while traveling eastbound on State Road 46.

The truck allegedly engaged in aggressive driving tactics, including tailgating, forcing them off the road, and finally stopping abruptly in front of their GMC Yukon XL.

The situation escalated when two men exited the truck and fired multiple shots at the family's vehicle.

No injuries were reported and the SUV sustained significant damage with nine bullet holes and a shattered front passenger window.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene, but the victims followed them at a safe distance until Brevard County deputies apprehended the suspects during a traffic stop.

The driver, 45-year-old Chad Morrow of Cocoa, and the passenger, 52-year-old Chad McAninch of Port St. John, were arrested.

Both men have been charged with two counts of attempted murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

They are currently held in Brevard County Jail with no bond.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate Saturday's shooting.
