North Miami Beach, FL - A North Miami Beach landlord is facing felony charges after he was caught installing a hidden camera in a room rented by a woman and her children.
Authorities say Elias Samuel Payan is facing felony charges after allegedly installing the hidden camera in a bedroom rented by a woman and her two children.
The victim reportedly became suspicious after noticing Payan accessing a camera feed on his phone.
Upon inspecting the room, the woman discovered a disguised camera hidden inside of a smoke detector.
Payan’s arrest report states the rented room lacked a private bathroom, raising concerns about potential exposure.
Payan was arrested after admitting to installing the camera.
He faces two counts of video voyeurism on a minor and one count on an adult.
Payan remains in jail on a $12,500 bond.
The victims have relocated from the residence.
