A Treasure Coast teacher was killed, cops say, by her estranged husband who then took his own life.
West Palm Beach Police say 45-year old Jamie Felix, who taught at a Port St. Lucie charter school, was abducted by 60-year old Ray Felix on Friday and driven south to a hotel, along with the couple's two sons.
Police spokesman Mike Jachles says once there, the man shot his wife multiple times before driving a mile away to a car rental lot.
"He was off the property when officers found him, at which time he pulled out a gun and fired a single shot to his head."
The 10 and 17-year old boys were found unharmed at the hotel.
Jachles says the couple was going through a divorce.
Grief counselors are available to students and staff at Manatee Academy K-8, where Jamie Felix worked.
The St. Lucie County School District says "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time."
