North Miami, FL - A North Miami man is facing felony charges after allegedly exposing himself to a 12-year-old boy at a private school campus and soliciting sexual acts in exchange for money.
Authorities say 33-year-old Jermaine Garrett-Hudson was arrested on Tuesday on charges of human trafficking and lewd and lascivious battery following an incident that occurred in December at Sheyes Learning Center & Elementary School.
According to his arrest report, Garrett-Hudson, who was reportedly an employee at the school during the time of the alleged incident, approached the boy at a water fountain and exposed himself to him.
He then allegedly offered the boy $5 in exchange for a sexual act.
The victim agreed to the proposition, and Garrett-Hudson reportedly followed through with the exchange before they went their separate ways.
However, during questioning, Garrett-Hudson denied the accusations, claiming it would have been impossible to commit such acts due to the constant presence of staff members throughout the school.
In response to the incident, Sheyes administrators released a statement affirming their immediate action in reporting the incident to authorities and relieving Garrett-Hudson of his position.
A Miami-Dade judge ordered Garrett-Hudson to remain held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
School administrators reiterated their commitment to cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation conducted by the Miami-Dade police.
