Woman Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Man and Child with Broomstick

Leesburg, FL - A Florida woman was arrested on Sunday after allegedly striking a man and a child with a broomstick while they were riding their bikes.

The incident occurred in the 34900 block of First Ave. in Leesburg, leading to the arrest of 59-year-old Annette Krupnicka on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon without intent to commit a felony.

According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Leesburg neighborhood shortly before 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the altercation.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered a man who claimed he was cycling down First Avenue with his children and their friends when Krupnicka, positioned in the middle of the road, allegedly used a broomstick to strike him and one of the children.

Footage obtained by a neighbor's doorbell camera purportedly captured Krupnicka standing in the street wielding a broomstick and assaulting someone as they passed by on their bicycles.
