WHOA: Flames Light Up Miami Sky After Engine Fire In Cargo Plane

An Atlas Air cargo plane is at least temporarily out of service after flames were seen shooting from an engine shortly after takeoff just after 10:00 last night from Miami International Airport.

The pilot turned around and landed safely at MIA about 15 minutes later.

The Boeing 747-8 was bound for San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Atlas Air confirms the engine malfunction and says the crew followed standard procedures. Not only it, but the FAA will investigate.

None of the five people on board was hurt.
