Victim Walks To Friend's House For Help After Being Shot In The Head

Holly Hill, FL - A man who was shot in the head walked to a friend's house for help following a shooting in Holly Hill on Wednesday morning.

The victim, a 44-year-old man, was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

According to police, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:42 a.m. at a residence on the 100 block of Flomich Avenue in Holly Hill.

Following an investigation, 33-year-old Christopher Hastings was identified as the suspect and apprehended in Daytona Beach.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Holly Hill Police Department, Daytona Beach Police Department, and Volusia County Sheriff's Office collaborated to locate and apprehend Hastings.

Hastings was found inside a car on Ridgewood Avenue approximately eight minutes after the initial 911 call.

Police confirmed that the weapon believed to be involved in the shooting was recovered.

Hastings was arrested on a charge of attempted second-degree murder and is currently being held at the Volusia County Jail.
