Friday is the deadline for cities along the Treasure Coast to submit their proposals to Brightline for a future train station.
Stuart and Fort Pierce have been finalizing their proposals and now a developer is throwing its hat in the ring.
Audubon Development built the King's Landing residential, dining and shopping community in Fort Pierce. It would give the high-speed rail line two choices to locate a station in the city.
The mayor says the proposal won't affect the city's own proposal for a station at a lot behind the Sunrise Theater. Brightline runs from Miami to Orlando but the rail line says it hopes to open a Treasure Coast station by early 2028.
