Brightline says no decision has been made as to where a Treasure Coast train station will be built. This as banners reading "Brightline, your next step is Fort Pierce" are popping up.
Fort Pierce is vying for a station, but so is Stuart, with the city commission this week approving its proposal to have a station in the downtown area. Fort Pierce is looking at an old depot behind the Sunrise Theater.
The deadline for cities to have their plans into Brightline is December 22nd and the high speed rail line says it hopes to open a Treasure Coast station by early 2028.
