Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce hasn't ruled out returning for a 14th NFL season.

Kelce, 36, spoke to reporters on Friday (November 21) and addressed his upcoming offseason decision on whether to return to the Chiefs prior to the beginning of free agency next March.

"I want to give the Chiefs a good opportunity, whether I come back or not -- or whether they want me back or not," Kelce said via ESPN. "I'd like to make that decision before they've got to get draft picks and free agency opens to fill the roster appropriately.

"All that will be at the end of the season. I won't be thinking about it until then."

Kelce is currently second among tight ends with 631 receiving yards, and tied for fourth with 50 receptions, having recorded a game-high nine receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown, which broke a tie with former Chiefs running back Priest Holmes for the most in franchise history, during a 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos last Sunday (November 19).

Kansas City is facing an uncharacteristic 5-5 record through its first 10 games after winning three Super Bowls in the last five years and appearing in the AFC Championship Game every years since 2019.

“It’s frustrating because it’s gotten to the point where we’re 5-5, we’re .500 going into the back end of the schedule here, got seven games left, and we basically gotta run the table,” Kelce, 36, said during the latest episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother and co-host, retired former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, released on Wednesday (November 19).

“I haven’t been in this situation in a long, long time, man. It’s even more frustrating knowing the kind of guys we have, knowing the kind of talent we have, knowing the type of coaches we have. Everybody’s just got to kind of look at themselves in the mirror, man.”
