Mount Dora, FL - An Apopka High School science teacher has been arrested after allegedly supplying alcohol and edibles to an underage boy.
According to the Mount Dora Police Department, FBI investigators initiated contact with local authorities regarding a "sexual incident" at the residence of 50-year-old Dmitri Kostyunina.
During their investigation, detectives uncovered that Kostyunina had invited a boy to his home to watch a movie about Elton John and "how he became gay."
Detectives learned that while watching the film, both consumed chocolate with an unusual taste.
After consuming the chocolate, the boy reportedly became disoriented.
Kostyunina also provided the boy wine and, at one point, inquired if he desired a massage.
Investigators say that despite the boy's refusal, Kostyunina offered more chocolate, causing the boy to become increasingly disoriented and under the influence.
The boy informed investigators that despite his repeated rejections of massage offers, Kostyunina proceeded to engage in sexual acts with him.
Detectives contacted Kostyunina, who confessed to providing the boy with wine, beer, and marijuana-laced chocolates.
Kostyunina claimed to have blacked out during the night and had not reported the incident to law enforcement because he felt "scared and embarrassed."
Kostyunina was arrested on charges of causing delinquency and sexual battery on a person between the ages of 12 and 18 years old.
In response to the incident, Kostyunina has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcomes of internal and law enforcement investigations.
