South Florida Man Arrested for Alleged Rape of Sex Worker

Miami, FL - A South Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a sex worker at gunpoint.

According to police, the victim met the suspect, identified as Felix Rodriguez Alvarez, through a website called Mega Personals and the two agreed to meet at West Buena Vista Park in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood last Thursday.

The victim told police that the two negotiated an hourly fee for her services.

However, when they met, Rodriguez Alvarez allegedly produced a gun and demanded $200 from the woman following a disagreement over payment through Zelle.

The arrest report details that the victim reached out to a friend to bring the money that Rodriguez Alvarez demanded.

Once the victim's friend arrived and provided the cash through the window of Rodriguez Alvarez's SUV, the suspect allegedly drove off with the victim still inside.

According to police, "The victim cried and begged to be let out of the vehicle at which point (he) stopped the car and demanded the victim to have sex with him as he was pointing a firearm at the victim’s direction. She pleaded with the defendant to at least use a condom, but he refused and ordered the victim to perform oral sex on him, and she complied."

Police stated that Rodriguez Alvarez then demanded sexual intercourse and sexually assaulted the victim.

"After the sexual assault, the victim was dropped off some blocks away, and (Rodriguez Alvarez) fled in the vehicle," police reported. "(He) then continued contacting the victim via text message, insinuating negative outcomes if she took any police action against him."

Authorities tracked down Rodriguez Alvarez at his apartment using his cellphone number and took him into custody on Tuesday.

During the arrest, officers discovered a 9-millimeter Smith & Wesson pistol equipped with a mounted red dot sight and a black BB gun.

Rodriguez Alvarez has been charged with sexual battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with a weapon, armed robbery, false imprisonment with a deadly weapon, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

As of Wednesday, jail records indicated that Rodriguez Alvarez was being held without bond.
