Boca Raton Police are still waiting to find out what caused the death of a woman whose body was found in the ocean, about a mile from the Boca Inlet.

A Marine Patrol unit made the discovery of the badly decomposed body on Friday and a shark was reportedly circling the area.

Fishing charter boat Captain Benny Scoca tells CBS 12 News that he's not surprised.

"I literally know the waters like the back of my hand. There's a lot of sharks from you know, here to Palm Beach is a pretty hot zone for sharks. Just reeling in fish we'll have sharks chase 'em up to the boat, eat 'em right next to the boat."

Investigators say the body is that of an adult woman but she does not match the description of anyone reported missing. Scoca says she could've come from somewhere pretty far away.

"Knowing what the current does on a daily basis and knowin' what it's been doin' over the past couple of days, I know the body of water out front has been movin' to the north and the deeper you go the faster to the north it has been moving."

Police are waiting on the Medical Examiner's office to determine how long she had been in the water.
