Marine Corps Officer Arrested for Aggravated Assault in Road Rage Incident

Key West, FL - A U.S. Marine Corps officer was arrested by Key West police on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct following a road rage incident on Duval Street.

The incident involved 40-year-old Kevin Robert Harris who allegedly threatened a vacationing family who were riding bicycles in the area.

According to witnesses, Harris tried to pass the family on their bicycles but was hindered by opposing traffic.

He became aggressive and yelled at one of the male family members for riding in the roadway.

The confrontation escalated as Harris confronted the family again at another location, yelling at the man and instigating a fight.

Witnesses reported that Harris raised a "dark-colored object" believed to be a gun during the altercation.

The victim felt that Harris was intentionally targeting him and left the area to protect his family's safety.

He reported the incident to the police, providing a description of Harris and his vehicle, along with the license plate information.

The police later located Harris and his white Ford Expedition at a gas station, where they found a gun and knife in the vehicle.

Harris initially denied pulling a gun on the family but later admitted to certain details of the incident.

Harris remains in custody at the Monroe County Jail without bond, with an arraignment date set for August 3.
