Florida Keys Man Arrested for Allegedly Injuring Woman in Domestic Dispute

Monroe County, FL - A 56-year-old man has been arrested in the Florida Keys after allegedly throwing a knife at a woman during a domestic dispute, resulting in her injury.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night at a residence on Lincoln Avenue in Tavernier, prompting a response from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrived at the scene around 10:35 p.m. and discovered the 31-year-old victim bleeding from her foot.

According to reports, Charles Samuel Trapp, the accused, had thrown the knife at the woman, lodging it in her foot.

Blood was found throughout the house, with the knife discovered near a bathroom sink.

The injured woman was promptly taken to Baptist Health Mariners Hospital, located just a block away from the house, where she received stitches for her wound.

Meanwhile, Trapp was taken into custody and is now facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in Monroe County court for arraignment on August 1st.

The incident sheds light on the seriousness of domestic disputes and the need for swift and appropriate action to protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
