Florida City, USA - Police arrested a woman who intentionally set fire to gas pumps at two separate gas stations in Florida City on Monday.
According to police, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel notified authorities about a fire outbreak at the Sunoco gas station at 1350 N. Krome Ave. in Florida City around 5 p.m.
Officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department were informed that Florida City police had detained Daylet Uribazo Hernandez for setting fire to a gas pump.
Uribazo Hernandez was apprehended at the Orion Krome Xpress gas station, located at 1460 N. Krome Ave., where she had used a cigarette lighter to ignite one of the pumps.
Witnesses reported that the gas station was full of patrons and employees at the time of the incident.
A security guard at the location captured photographs of Uribazo Hernandez and dialed 911 to alert authorities.
Monday's attempted arson marks the third time that Uribazo Hernandez attempted to set fire to one of the gas pumps at that location.
Police discovered surveillance footage confirming Uribazo Hernandez's presence around 4:30 p.m. at the 7-Eleven gas station on Krome Avenue.
There, she was seen igniting rags at the base of pump number 6 as customers were fueling their vehicles at neighboring pumps.
An employee shut down the fuel pumps and extinguish the flames using a fire extinguisher, preventing further damage to the gas station.
Authorities arrested Uribazo Hernandez shortly after the second incident.
Police say Uribazo Hernandez appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants and fell asleep before her Miranda Rights could be read or any statements could be obtained from her.
According to detectives, Uribazo Hernandez is facing two counts of attempted felony murder and first-degree arson charges.
Investigators revealed that Uribazo Hernandez had a previous record of being arrested by Miami-Dade police on an arson charge, with an ongoing court case for similar offenses.
She's been booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
