Orlando, FL - The University of Central Florida student who tracked Elon Musk's jet on Twitter has created a new account to monitor Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' jet.
Jack Sweeney, who gained national attention for tracking Elon Musk's jet, has turned his focus to monitoring the movements of Gov. Ron DeSantis, with a new Twitter account called @DeSantisJet garnering nearly 9,000 followers within a month of its launch.
Sweeney, whose original account @ElonJet was suspended, subsequently created a new account called @ElonJetNextDay, which provides delayed tracking by at least 24 hours.
Sweeney revealed during an interview with Florida's Fourth Estate hosts Matt Austin and Ginger Gadsden that his foray into tracking high-profile figures began during his childhood when he monitored planes to ensure his pilot father's timely return.
His interest shifted to Musk and his private jet, leading him to track it during the COVID-19 pandemic when he had free time.
According to the @DeSantisJet Twitter account's bio, the account is dedicated to "Tracking Ron Desantis's Jet / Florida State Gov't Jet (N943FL) Using public ADS-B Data by @Jxck_Sweeney Delayed by 24 hours to comply with Twitter Rules."
As reported by CBS News, Governor DeSantis is anticipated to launch his presidential campaign for 2024 this week.
The news outlet stated that DeSantis plans to formally file with the Federal Election Commission to establish his presidential candidacy.
A formal campaign kickoff event is reportedly scheduled closer to June 1st.
