Hollywood, FL - A man found an unexpected surprise in the bathroom of his South Florida home on Sunday after a large iguana found its way inside his toilet.
58-year-old John Riddle, a resident of Hollywood, had an alarming experience when he discovered an iguana lurking in his toilet bowl.
In an interview with 7News on Sunday, Riddle described the incident that left him shaken, where he likened the experience to being in a scene from "Jurassic Park" due to the unnerving presence of the iguana in his bathroom.
Riddle says the incident unfolded when he noticed that the bathroom door, which leads to the pool deck of his home on North Hills Drive, was still open.
As he went to close it, Riddle unexpectedly encountered the iguana, which promptly turned around and opened its mouth, before retreating further into the toilet.
To prevent the iguana from escaping into his bedroom, Riddle grabbed a nearby baby gate and placed it strategically in the bathroom.
After some time, the reptile crawled out from behind the toilet and Riddle used a strainer to gently guide the iguana out of his home.
Riddle believes that the iguana gained entry when he inadvertently left the door open while walking his dogs.
