Melbourne, FL - A physical education teacher at a Florida middle school has been arrested for encouraging two students to fight, resulting in one student getting injured.

Paul Eller, a physical education teacher at Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School, has been arrested and charged with child neglect, culpable negligence and disruption of a school function after video footage surfaced of him encouraging two students to fight in the school's locker room last month.

Melbourne police were contacted about the fight on April 21st.

According to a news release, the video shows a group of students, along with Eller, watching the fight.

During the fight, one of the students was injured, causing the fight to stop, but Eller could be heard making a noise to encourage the participants to begin fighting again.

Police say the two students continued fighting, and Eller only intervened to break up the fight after a third student joined in.

April's incident led to Eller's arrest on charges of child neglect, culpable negligence and disruption of a school function.

The school announced earlier this month that a teacher was under investigation for allowing students to fight on campus, but it was not clear at the time that Eller was the teacher involved.
