TAMPA -- It's Special Operations Week in Tampa, as thousands of members of special forces and their families are taking part in conferences and other event downtown.
Meaghan Keeler with the Global Special Operations Foundation says "Special Operations Forces Week" is expanding, with more events aimed at those in uniform and their families. Keeler says this year's events are expanding beyond the focus in previous years, which was aimed at businesses that wanted to do business with Special Operations Command.
Nonetheless, around six hundred businesses will have booths at the Tampa Convention Center. Keeler says all of the senior acquisition staff are on hand for the conference. Keeler says it's a great venue for businesses that want to sell to the military and Special Ops.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor will officially open the event with remarks Tuesday. SOF Week runs through Thursday (May 11th).
