Miami-Dade, FL - A South Florida middle school teacher has been arrested for pursuing a romantic relationship with a male student by buying him gifts and completing his homework.
Police say 28-year-old Mohammed Ahmed, a social studies teacher at Country Club Middle School in Hialeah, allegedly pursued a relationship with a 13-year-old student for four months, from September of 2022 to January of 2023.
According to investigators, Ahmed allowed the student to miss classes and stay in his office alone with him, while keeping a photo of the student on his desk.
An investigation found evidence of communication and sexual conversations between Ahmed and the student on social media and gaming platforms.
Investigators say in some messages, Ahmed told the student that he loved him and described how a person should be satisfied sexually.
The conversation between Ahmed and the student allegedly turned physical, with Ahmed forcing the student to touch his abdominal muscles.
Ahmed also allegedly gave gifts to the student, threw him a birthday party, and wrote him letters saying he was the "best thing that has ever happened to me".
The teacher also allegedly chased the student around his empty classroom, hugged him from behind, and tickled him on one occasion.
The Miami-Dade County Public Schools released a statement regarding Ahmed's arrest stating they are "deeply troubled by the allegations of inappropriate conduct made against this individual" and have initiated employment termination proceedings.
