Man Arrested for Stealing Semi-Truck Carrying $200K in Meat and Seafood

Ocala, FL - A man's been arrested on charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property after stealing a semi-truck carrying over $200,000 worth of seafood and meat.

Police say Alain Marti-Rosell, a non-U.S. citizen, was arrested in Ocala after he was caught stealing the semi-truck that was carrying over $200,000 worth of seafood and meat.

The Ocala Police Department posted footage of the arrest on social media, which showed the stolen semi-truck being followed by police to an intersection, where Marti-Rosell was filmed fleeing the vehicle.

Police eventually located him with the assistance of a K-9 unit.

Marti-Rosell faces charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property for his alleged involvement in the theft of the semi-truck and its cargo.

The stolen goods were estimated to be worth over $200,000, adding to the severity of the charges against Marti-Rosell.

The grand theft of cargo charge carries a higher penalty due to the significant value of the stolen items.

In addition to the charges related to the theft, Marti-Rosell also faces a charge of resisting an officer without violence, as he attempted to evade arrest when confronted by law enforcement.

The total bond amount set for Marti-Rosell is $126,000.
