Drunk Man Sneaks into Police Department, Causes Damage and Steals Uniforms

Naples, FL - A drunk man has been arrested for sneaking into a Southwest Florida police department and causing damage while stealing uniforms and a bulletproof vest.

Police say 36-year-old Joseph Moulton was arrested after allegedly sneaking into the Naples Police Department, causing damage and stealing uniforms while under the influence of alcohol.

The incident occurred when Moulton jumped the fence of the south parking lot and entered an unlocked patrol cruiser, where he sat for a few minutes until he saw people come outside.

Moulton then hid in the bushes and proceeded to cause havoc inside the police department.

According to police, Moulton used the nozzle of a water hose to shove it underneath the west door and turn the water on, causing at least an inch of flood damage.

He then made his way to the men's locker room, where he reportedly took a shower and helped himself to some clothing, including a uniform shirt, pants, cap, and a bulletproof vest worth $900.

In addition to the damage caused, Moulton allegedly defecated on the women's bathroom floor and dumped a police radio in the toilet.

The police were not alerted to Moulton's actions until he left the police department and went to a nearby 7-Eleven, where an employee found him suspicious and believed him to be under the influence.

The police were called and Moulton was arrested.

During his interview, he admitted to being under the influence and claimed to have no recollection of his actions.

Moulton is facing charges of grand theft and two counts of burglary.
