Governor Ron DeSantis signing HB 543 which eliminates the requirement for Floridians to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Supporters say obtaining a permit creates a barrier for American's right to bear arms under the second amendment.
Opponents like House Democrat leader Fentrice Driskell say the legislation puts Floridians at an increased risk for gun violence.
A University of North Florida Poll released last month claims 77-percent of those surveyed oppose the bill.
The law goes into effect on July 1st.
