Lakeland, FL - A man's been arrested after allegedly making threats to bomb a Papa John's pizza store following an argument with an employee.

Police say Johnny Vega, of Lakeland, was arrested for allegedly threatening to bomb a Papa John's restaurant when he became frustrated while ordering a pizza.

On Wednesday, an employee at the Lakeland Papa John's location got into an argument on the phone with a customer who went by the name "Jay" and hung up.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the caller, identified as Vega, called back and allegedly threatened to kill the employee and bomb the store, which resulted in the employee giving Vega’s name, phone number and address to the police.

The cause of the argument remains unknown.

When questioned by officers, Vega initially denied ever calling the restaurant and attempted to pass off a co-worker's phone as his own.

He also reportedly tried to hide his phone in a piece of furniture in a bedroom in an attempt to obstruct the investigation.

As a result, Vega was charged with false report concerning planting a bomb, tampering with or fabricating evidence, and resisting an officer without violence.
