Sheriff's Office Seeks Public Help Locating Champagne Thief

Sumter County, FL - The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is requesting the assistance of the public to help locate a thief who stole eight bottles of champagne from a Walmart liquor store in The Villages.

On February 18th, an unidentified woman entered a Walmart liquor store in The Villages and proceeded to put eight bottles of Remy Martin champagne into a shopping cart and left without paying for the items.

The woman then drove away in a newer model pearl white Lincoln MKZ with tinted windows, a sunroof and a Florida license plate.

According to a news release issued by the sheriff's office, the suspect is described as being between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall.

The suspect was wearing a tan hat, a black graphic t-shirt with the name "AALIYAH" written on it, camouflage shorts, white, gray, and orange shoes, and carrying a black and white checkered Dior purse.

Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the theft to contact the criminal investigations division at 352-793-2621.
