Walkouts Planned At Six Universities & Colleges Over Transgender Care

Students at six public state universities and colleges planning on walking out at noon Thursday in protest over the governor's request they hand over medical data on trans students seeking gender-affirming care. University of South Florida Trans Student Union member Andy Pham sees this is a direct attack on his civil rights, healthcare and right to exist. Governor DeSantis says he wants the information from students experiencing gender dysphoria over the past five years, including their ages and dates of care, to better understand the amount of public funding going toward nonacademic pursuits.
