Daytona Beach Shores, FL - A 62-year-old hotel resident was struck and killed by a forklift operator who was delivering materials to replace the hotel's damaged roof.
On Monday, a woman staying at the Beach Haven Motel in Daytona Beach Shores was hit by a forklift in the parking lot, and died shortly after being taken to a local hospital.
According to a news release, the forklift operator was delivering material to repair the hotel's roof, which was damaged by Hurricane Ian, and is cooperating with the investigation.
Public Safety Director Michael Fowler said of Monday's accident "this was a tragic accident, and we will conduct a full investigation to determine what led to it.”
