Florida Madam Charged with Money Laundering and Prostitution Scheme

Tamarac, FL - A Florida woman has been arrested on charges of deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution and money laundering of over $100,000 for operating a massage parlor that was a front for prostitution.

Susan Ling Lee, 53, was accused of using the establishment, Far East Massage, to launder over $569,000, and of previously facing similar charges in New York.

The Broward Sheriff's Office launched an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip from a potential customer.

The anonymous tipster informed authorities of suspicious activity at the massage parlor after visiting the establishment.

The woman who greeted the tipster was only a wearing bra and underwear and asked about the length and price of the massage, including a tip.

The tipster claimed to only want a massage and declined any additional services, but the woman turned him away, suggesting he find another massage place.

Lee was arrested on Tuesday at a Fort Lauderdale apartment complex.

She is being held in the Paul Rein Detention Facility on a $275,000 bond, with conditions to surrender her passport and wear a GPS monitor if released.
