Broward Superintendent Could Be Fired For Second Time Next Week

Broward Superintendent Vickie Cartwright could be fired a second time next week, but a proposal by a new School Board member would allow her to stay on for the rest of this academic year. Allen Zeman says the board needs to hear Cartwright's progress report first. Today the board is voting on whether to hire a search firm to look for a possible permanent replacement. Cartwright will miss today's meeting because she was summoned to the State Board of Education meeting to explain why Broward teachers haven't received their state-approved money for raises. Daniel Faganholi , the DeSantis appointed board member who made the surprise motion to fire her back in November, is being sworn in today.
