The State & Feds Go To Trial Over Biden Administration Immigration Policies

It's the state of Florida vs the Biden administration in a trial over immigration policies beginning today in Pensacola. The state is trying to convince a U-S District Judge that the Biden administration is violating federal laws by releasing immigrants who are required to be detained. Immigration attorney Tammy Fox-Isicoff says this looks more like a political stunt ahead of Governor DeSantis' expected presidential run. The state claims the policies lead to increased costs for prisons, schools and health care services while increasing the fentanyl being funneled in. The Department of Justice argues the feds have the authority to determine immigration policies and the state has no legal ground to stand on.
