Infant soaked in beer by drunk Florida man during restaurant rampage

Naples, FL - Police are searching for a man who threw a beer on a 5-month-old baby girl in a stroller during a drunken rampage at a South Florida restaurant on Monday.

The unidentified man man was thrown out of Vergina's Italian Restaurant in Naples on Monday night around 11 PM for being overly intoxicated.

On his way out of the restaurant, the man began yelling at a family who was saying their goodbyes near the sidewalk.

He then threw the beer at the young child.

The mother, who wished to remain anonymous, tells NBC 2 News that as the man "stormed out, he proceeded to throw an entire beer on my five-month-old baby who was in her stroller doing absolutely nothing wrong. When I saw my baby scared like I’ve never seen before, soaking wet in beer. I knew I had to pick her up and grab her."

Management took a photo of the man, who paid in cash and was not captured on surveillance footage.

Other restaurants on 5th Avenue South have also had run-ins with the man, but without the beer throwing.

The incident has been reported to the Naples Police Department, who are investigating.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or Monday's incident are encouraged to call the Naples Police Department's non-emergency number at (239) 213-4844.

The child's mother plans to press charges if the suspect is apprehended.
