TAMPA -- State troopers have arrested a 24-year-old man in the hit and run death of a scooter driver almost a year ago in Pinellas County.
FHP says Jackson Schemel-Lawrence was driving a white pickup truck found not long after the deadly crash on 66th Street near 51st Avenue North January 29th. They released a photo of a possible "person of interest" a few days later.
Troopers say a lengthy investigation linked the suspect with video and forensic evidence. He's charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
