Scattered Storms, Possible Tornado Reported in Tampa Bay

ST. PETERSBURG -- Several trees have been knocked down along 9th Avenue North in Northwest St. Petersburg, following high winds accompanying a cold front.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue says they received several calls of trees down between 49th Street North and 58th Street North just after noon. Only one fell onto a building, at the St. Vincent's Episcopal Church preschool. The tree fell on an unoccupied part of the building and the structure remains stable. Weather officials will determine whether straight line winds or a tornado brought the trees down.

Meantime, street flooding was reported in Tampa at the intersection of East Fowler Avenue and North 30th Street.
