Mother Of 'Baby June' Arrested In Death Of Infant Found In Boynton Inlet

An arrest has been made in the death of "Baby June," a newborn found in Palm Beach County waters over four years ago.

"This young unidentified child was found floating in the ocean off the Boynton Inlet. It was gut wrenching to all of us and the community as well."

Sheriff's Capt. Steven Strivelli says the mother of the baby, 29-year old Arya Singh, was found through new DNA technology.

He says the infant, who got her nickname from authorities because she was found on June 1st, 2018, was just one day old and had been dumped into the Boynton Beach Inlet by Singh shortly after she gave birth.

A DNA sample obtained from something that Singh put in the trash confirmed that she is the mother. She's being charged with first degree murder.

Officials say the father was unaware of the situation.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw had a message for both victims and suspects of crimes.

"We've solved cases recently that were 25 years old. So we're never going to leave you behind and forget about the fact that you're a victim. Now if you're the person that did this, we're never going to forget about you either because we're going to come and get you and bring you to justice."
