Multiple Special Sessions Possible, Governor Says

FORT WALTON BEACH -- Florida has a special seassion coming up in December, and there could be more before the regular session in March.

Governor Ron DeSantis tells reporters in Fort Walton Beach, he's talking with lawmakers about more time in Tallahassee to push through his "robust" agenda.

The December session is supposed to address property insurance and tax relief to Hurricane Ian victims. DeSantis says potential session dates are still being finalized.

Lawmakers will be in Tallahassee for committee meetings during seven weeks leading up to the 2023 regular session. Those are: Dec. 12 to Dec. 16; Jan. 3 to Jan. 6; Jan. 17 to Jan. 20; Jan. 23 to Jan. 27; Feb. 6 to Feb. 10; Feb. 13 to Feb. 17; and Feb. 20 to Feb. 24.

The 2023 session starts March 7.
