The Miami Marlins have found their next skipper... Jared "Skip" Schumaker.
The 42-year-old takes over as Manager. He replaces Don Mattingly, who agreed to part with the Fish at the end of this past season.
Schumacker spent the last season as a bench coach for the St. Louis Cardinals.
He spent 11-years in the MLB as a player. In that time he won two World Series Championships.
While he has no managerial experience, General Manager King Ng says, “As we continue to grow as an organization, we felt it was important to find an individual who had been a part of a winning culture."
