Fort Myers, FL - Southwest Florida International Airport is reopening on Wednesday after being closed for over a week due to Hurricane Ian.
According to a press release from the Lee County Port Authority, the first commercial flight scheduled to depart the airport is Spirit Flight 1150 heading for Detroit at 9:45 a.m.
The press release states the initial hours of operation for security checkpoints will be 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with flights operating between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Restrooms at the airport will be open, however no drinking water will be available due to the current boil water notice in Lee County.
Many concessions in the concourses will be closed, as limited food and beverage options are in short supply.
The airport is asking that only people traveling come to the airport.
Officials say Southwest, Frontier, Air Canada, Alaska, WestJet, and Eurowings will operate out of Concourse B, United and Delta will operate out of in Concourse C, and American, JetBlue, and Spirit will operate out of Concourse D, however flyers may expect changes to those gate assignments in the short-term.
