A middle school math teacher is on unpaid suspension after the Palm Beach County School Board has voted to terminate him.

49-year old Victor Lopez is accused of hitting students with sticks and a ruler and grabbing one by the back of the neck.

He's been with the school district since 2005 and has worked at Boca Raton Middle School and Loggers' Run Middle School.

Superintendent Mike Burke found that several of the allegations against Lopez were substantial and he recommended the teacher's firing. He has 15 days to appeal the decision.
