The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office took to Facebook this week to share the story of a family that was living out of a van.

A deputy discovered the five children, their mother and grandmother in and around a van that was parked at a shopping plaza along Lake Worth Road.

While speaking with the women, Deputy Kenneth Torrence discovered they were homeless and that the children's father was donating plasma to get enough money to feed the kids. The deputy bought the whole family breakfast from McDonald's and groceries.

The process was also started to help find the family permanent housing and they were placed in a hotel in the meantime.

The post includes a reminder that if you would like to support PBSO's Homeless Outreach efforts, there is an email address to do that.
