Gaviota, CA - The body of a South Florida man who went missing while hiking in California has been recovered.
Authorities announced that after a five day search, the body of 29-year-old Tim Sgrignoli was located on Thursday afternoon.
Sgrignoli, a graduate of Pompano Beach High School, was last seen on Sunday on the Gaviota Peak Trail in Gaviota, California.
Investigators say Sgrignoli went to find help for his girlfriend who became overheated during their hike, but never returned.
Police believe heat played a contributing factor in Sgrignoli‘s death.
