Fossils Fuel Trespassing Wave at Florida Construction Site

NORTH PORT -- "Fossils" are "fueling" a wave of trespassing at a construction site in Sarasota County.

Workers using heavy machinery at a major development called Wellen Park, have discovered shark teeth and fossils.

That's drawn fossil hunters who have gone onto the site without permission. That's a felony.

Worse yet, they're endangering themselves because the site includes large holes and other hazards.

Police have warned trespassers they'll face charges if they ignore the warning signs.
