Crist to DeSantis Supporters: "I Don't Want Your Vote"

ST. PETERSBURG -- Democrat Charlie Crist fired a salvo at supporters of incumbent Republican Ron DeSantis in the governor's race.

The party's nominee for governor declared that supporters of DeSantis have "hate" in their hearts the morning after defeating Nikki Fried in the primary.

"Those who support the governor should stay with him and vote for him and I don't want your vote," Crist said. "If you have that hate in your heart, keep it there. I want the vote of the people of Florida who care about this state. Good Democrats, good independents, good Republicans, unify with this ticket."

DeSantis will be in Tampa Wednesday night as part of a statewide bus tour. Tuesday night, he told supporters in Miami he's ready for a nasty fight. "Don't let anyone tell you it's going to be easy. They're going to throw everything they have at us," DeSantis said.
