Volusia County, FL - An alligator found swimming in a Florida pond with a knife stuck in its head has been euthanized.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says an investigation began after photos of the gator were posted to social media.
The gator was spotted in a pond behind a Subway restaurant on Providence Boulevard off Doyle Road in Deltona.
The alligator was captured by FWC officers over the weekend and euthanized because of its injuries.
FWC officials say it's unknown who stabbed the gator in the head.
