Parkland School Shooter Trial: Today's the Final Day of Testimony This Week

The owner of Sunrise Tactical Supply, the gun store where Nikolas Cruz bought the AR-15-style rifle he used in the 2018 Marjory Stoneman High School attack, taking the stand Tuesday in the sentencing phase of the trial.

Michael Morrison says Nikolas Cruz purchased the rifle in February 2017, one year before the attack. His brief conversation with Cruz questioned his intent, but produced no red flags to stop the sale.

"What are you going to do with the rifle, " he asked.

Cruz repled, "I go shooting with my friends on the weekends. I just want my own stuff."

Broward's Chief Medical Examiner later taking the stand to testify about autopsy photos showing the injuries suffered by Alex Schachter, Alyssa Alhadeff and teacher Scott Beigel.

Alex's father Max wiped away tears as Dr. Rebecca MacDougall described the path of the bullets that paralyzed and killed the 14-year-old.

The afternoon session included testimony from Broward Medical Examiner's Office staffers including Dr. Marlon Osbourne who performed autopsies on students Gina Montalto, Jaime Guttenberg, and Helena Ramsey.

"This wound is on the back of the right side of her head. It goes through the scalp, fractures the bones of the skull, enters the calvarium where the brain is housed, " Dr. Osbourne said describing Ramsey's autopsy photo.

Prosecutor Mike Satz asked if that wound was fatal. Dr. Osbourne said it was. Similar descriptions came from Prosecutor Mike Satz's questions regarding photos of Montalto's and Guttenberg's autopsies.
