Trump National Doral To Host LIV Golf Tournament

Former President Donald Trump has agreed to host Saudi-funded LIV Golf tournaments at Trump National Golf Club Bedminister this month and the season ending Team Championship at Trump National Doral Miami in October.

Barry University's Dr. Sean Foreman feels while players have taken heat for joining LIV Golf, Trump likely isn't worried about a political backlash, despite an election looming. "I think that's the least of his considerations here. In fact, he hopes to score as many points as he loses by making this move politically."

Trump's first overseas visit as President was to Saudi Arabia.

The tournaments are expected to pump millions of dollars into the businessman turned politician's golf empire. Foreman believes money is a huge motivation, but not the only one. "We know that Donald Trump wants to be a player, and some ways this is revenge for him against the PGA."

The PGA chose to hold its last events at Trump Doral and Bedminster in 2016 after, then, candidate Trump made controversial comments.
