LARGO --Pinellas detectives find no evidence at a dig site to solve a 40-year-old case.
A team excavated property belonging to a deceased suspect over a nine day period ending Wednesday.
They had tips that human remains might be found at the home of Cleveland Hill Jr., who was a suspect in the 1982 disappearance of Retha Hiers.
Hill maintained innocence until he died in 2018. Detectives say they found nothing to link Hill to the Hiers case, which remains an open investigation.
