CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A man’s been arrested for operating a marijuana grow house in a South Florida home that had more than 200 pounds of plants when police busted the pot planter.
According to investigators, the Cape Coral Police Department’s Vice Investigations and Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at a home on Diplomat Parkway West on April 29th.
Inside the home, authorities discovered an illegal grow operation in eight of the rooms inside the house.
Police say 41-year-old Walter Pereida Flores claimed ownership of the operation, telling police all the plants, equipment, and construction of the electrical wiring and piping used for the grow house belonged to him.
Authorities confiscated 86 plants with root systems. 216 clones were also found that had yet to developed roots.
The weight of the plants was 283.6 pounds.
Flores was arrested on charges of owning or renting a structure for the purpose of manufacturing a controlled substance and marijuana trafficking.
