A judge has dismissed a wrongful death lawsuit filed against a restaurant owned by golfing great Tiger Woods.
The judge ruled that The Woods Jupiter can't be held responsible for the car crash that killed a 24-year old bartender at the restaurant because Nicholas Immesberger helped himself to alcohol before leaving work that night in December 2018.
The ruling states that the restaurant could only be held liable if someone served him, knowing that he was an alcoholic.
Woods was asked about the incident soon after the suit was filed.
"Well, we're all very sad that Nick passed away. It was a terrible night, a terrible ending. We feel bad for him and his entire family. It's very sad."
The ruling is being appealed, but the judge agreed to reconsider her reasoning first at a June court hearing.
Woods was initially named in the lawsuit filed by Immesberger's family, but was removed when it was determined that he wasn't at the restaurant the night of the crash.
