Teacher arrested for being high on ecstasy in classroom

MARION COUNTY, Fla - A teacher was arrested for being high on ecstasy while teaching at a Florida elementary school.

According to school administrators, Hiromi Adams, a first grade teacher at Hammett Bowen Elementary School, was exhibiting concerning behaviors on Tuesday.

Concerned staff saw Adams heading towards a classroom bathroom. With the aid of school administrators, the school’s Resource Officer conducted a search of the bathroom that revealed a pill bottle with Adams’ name on it containing a red straw, half a green pill, and a small plastic baggie containing a green powder.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office tested the powder which tested positive for MDMA.

Adams was placed under arrest. She was also found to be in possession of suboxone.

She’s being held at the Marion County Jail.
